The Story

Before there was Hotel Alcazar, there was The Rambler.

Hailed at delivery as "A Palace on Wheels." The Rambler carried Henry Flagler south on his railroad to St. Augustine, arriving for the Christmas Day opening of Hotel Alcazar in 1888 — the building that would become the Lightner Museum, and the building The Rambler coffee shop calls home today.

No other coffee shop in St. Augustine has this story. No one can claim it. It's anchored in history, in brick, and in the railroad car that made it all possible.
